Musical Evening to raise fund for Noiritry-Protity

Protity arranged a special musical evening, to raise some money for Noiritry on the 10th of November at Quakers Hill community centre, and raised $1,800.00 dollars. Sirajus Salekin, founder of Protity, will give a hand to Noiritry’s family to raise the $2,000.00 required for his medical expenses. In the program, Colin Bariman played the sarood and after the interval, Sirajus Salekin sang some Rabindra sangeet and songs of the old days. This was a worthwhile evening for a worthy cause. photos...

Ekushe Betar is a very popular radio station in Sydney among the Bengali community. I recently visited the studio at Riverwood and met the producer and director of Ekushe Betar, Mr. Mizanur Rahman Taroon and special Assistant Director, Dalia Nilufar. Mr. Mizanur Rahman is a freedom fighter of Banladesh.This program has been broadcasting regularly for the past five years. Their program can be heard on the station 100.9 FM at 2:30-4:00 PM, every Sunday.They broadcast different Bengali songs, news, dramas,interviews and many current affairs in the program. AUSBAN MEDIA CENTRE presented Bappa Mazumder and Fahmida Nabi on the 29th of October at University of NSW’s John Clancy Auditorium. There was a 2nd show held at Glenfield community centre.  Mr. Golam Mostofa, the founder of Ausban Media, told the audience that there will be more cultural exchanges between Australia and Bangladesh.
