An Appeal for HelpOn behalf of a friend - Rana Jyoti Chakma (tel. +971 -50 -5907 683, Abu Dhabi) I am disseminating an Appeal through this website for financial help, on compassionate ground, for the kidney treatment of Rana's cousin Pintu Chakma (a 33 year old family man) of Khagrachari. Rana used to study (UNSW) and live in Sydney in early nineties and now teaching in the United Arab Emirates.Pintu's both kidneys have failed, he is currently on dialysis, and is under treatment of renal specialist Dr Sarwar Iqbal at Birdem Hospital Dhaka. Pintu is the main income source for a large family, and it is unfortunate and sad that he is now in need of an urgent transplant, and long-term treatment.Family members and others have kindly offered to donate a kidney if compatible, however the complex pre-testing tissue matching and transplant operation, and subsequent long-term stabilisation and maintenance of transplanted kidney, if successful, requires significant amount of cash. While Rana is helping and an appeal is concurrently being run by the Daily Star newspaper (2 August 2009) in Bangladesh (Inu Chakma, Account No. 4795, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Khagrachari Branch) any amount you may be able to afford and willing to donate could greatly help Pintu's treatment and long term well being of him and his distressed family.Donation in Sydney can be made to his brother in law's account (Chatswood) - Account Name: Tanu Murang, BSB No. 062 140, Account No. 1070 1744, Commonwealth Bank. Please mention your name and refer your donation is for "PINTU'" if and when depositing. Donation can also be directly made to Tanu by contacting him on Mob: 0413 924 509, or email: tanu_r20@hotmail.comThank you kindly for your attention, consideration and support.Kind regardsHelal MorshediHolsworthy, 20 August 2009
