The Sun-Herald City to Surf 2005
Event Date: 14th August 2005
This year marks the 35th anniversary of The Sun-Herald City to Surf.
You can expect it to be an exciting year for Australia's greatest
community fun run.
In 2005 two new changes will be introduced to The Sun-Herald City to
Surf. The race will start at the earlier time of 9.30am on the 14th
August 2005 and due to the narrowing of William Street it has been
decided to divide The Sun-Herald Start (previously known as Group A)
into two separate starts.
Qualified seeded and preferred runners and those people who finished
the 2004 Sun-Herald City to Surf under 75 minutes will go on the firing
of the first start gun.
The second part of The Sun-Herald Start will be those runners who have
completed the 2004 Sun-Herald City to Surf in under 100 minutes. These
runners will then move up to the starting line and begin the event after
the firing of a second gun. The time differential between the two guns
will be deducted from these entrants finish times.
You can find out more about these new start arrangements in the Race
day section of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's).
