The program commenced with the guest artist, Sirajus Salekin. This program included solo, chorus ,dance and narration performances. Good Morning Bangladesh 2005 Good Morning Bangladesh was organised by the families of the Bangladeshi Community on May 8, 2005 at Village Green, Blacktown. There were many people who came along to the events and made it successful. This is a unique morning breakfast program, held annually, for raising funds for the Cancer Council NSW. Many families donated different items of food for this program. Total collection for this year is $3200.00. This program is held for a good cause. Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukanto Jayanti, 2005 Bangladesh Society for Puja and Culture Inc. celebrated their 3rd “Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukanto” jayanti on Saturday May 7, 2005 at St. Oswald Parish Hall, Haberfield. Report Sent By: Kamrul Ahsan Khan Boishakhi Mela-2005, Canberra Boishaki Mela "PARBON" organised by Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra on April 30, 2005, many people came both from Canberra and Sydney to join in the festivities and enjoy the variety of stalls which were selling food, books, clothing, kids art competition and more. There was a mixture of performances held during the day and night including songs, dances presented by various cultural organisations. As this was the 1st mela in it's kind in Canberra, the organisers put lots of effort to make it successful. Everyone enjoyed the day. Anzac Day Soccer-2005 Wattlegrove, Glenfield, Macquarie Fields, Ingleburn, Minto, Leumeah and the Campbelltown area Bangladeshi Communities have been playing soccer every Sunday morning since November 2003 at Milton Park, Macquarie fields. Recently a picnic was organised, by the TIGEROOS soccer club. The picnic was held at Stuart Park, Wollongong. There were 140 people who attended the picnic. Everybody had a great time ! On the day there was a barbeque, activities and events held for the children, men and women. Everyone had great fun. Boishakhi Mela-2005, Organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia (Razzak) At Burwood Girls High School on Saturday, 16th April, 2005, there was a boishaki mela organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia (Razzak), which gathered a huge crowd outdoors. The mela had many food, clothes and jewellery stalls outside. There were many outside performances such as poetry recitations, discussions, musical instrumentals, group singing and band performances. There was a mixture of performances held during the day including songs, dances and recitations of poetry presented by various cultural organisations. At night there was a cultural function which was presented in the form of a drama, Moina Mothir Deshe. It consisted of songs, dances and poetry recitations.
