Ekushe Academy Australia. Ekushe Academy held their annual reunion on the 2nd of August. After lunch, there was an open discussion regarding potential activities which could be pursued by the organisation in future. The program ended with a cultural function. The following week on the 9th of August, Ekushe Academy Australia organised a memorial meeting for the language movement hero, Gaziul Haq, at Burwood Community Centre. The meeting started with a minute silence to pay homage to the valiant hero. Many people took part in the discussion and discussed his life and heroic contribution to the Bengali language. Dr. Qaiyum Parvez, nephew of Gaziul Haq, shared his biography and unveiled many facts and fond memories about Mr. Haq which were unknown to many. The program ended with the presentation of some patriotic songs and poetry.
