The First Anniversary of Muktijodha Shonghoti Parishad On the 12th of June, 2005, the Muktijodha Shonghoti Parishad celebrated their first anniversary at Sir Joseph Banks Park at Botany. There was a discussion and a picnic in which many honourable guests were present. The President, Robin Bonik, and General Secretary, Osman Goni, thanked everyone for making this event a success. The details will be declared soon. -Dr. Qaiyum Parvez & Dr. Nurur Rahman "Khalaram" Natok In Sydney On the 5th of June, a night of drama was organised by the Bangladesh Community Council Inc. The play was called “Khalaram”. The night started off with the presentation of speeches given by the organisers and High Commissioner of Bangladesh. This was followed by a cultural function in which some dances and a flute solo were performed. After this, the drama started, starring artists from Bangladesh as well as some local artists. At the end of the drama, there was an interview held with the artists from Bangladesh in which the audience was allowed to ask any questions they wished to have answered. Photos... Mother Language Monument at
Ashfield Park. As far it is known, this monument will be the first
ever "International
Mother Language Monument" in
the world. The construction will be done in consultation with and
with the prior approval of Ashfield Council. A contract will be signed
with the Ashfield Council. Ekushe Academy Australia Inc. is to carry all

Sur-o-Dhwani – Sraddhanjali On the 144th birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore, Sur-O-Dhwani music school presented a musical program on the 8th of May 2005 at St. Albans Church Hall at Epping. The program commenced with the guest artist, Sirajus Salekin. This program included solo, chorus ,dance and narration performances. Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukanto Jayanti, 2005 Bangladesh Society for Puja and Culture Inc. celebrated their 3rd “Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukanto” jayanti on Saturday May 7, 2005 at St. Oswald Parish Hall, Haberfield. The children took part in the public speaking and debate competition. The night ended with performances of Rabindranath, Nazrul and Shukanto’s songs, dance and poetry. Details Report...
