ORGANISED A THRILLING CRICKET COMPETITION: BANGLADESH COMMUNITY COUNCIL INC, INDEPENDENCE-DAY ANANDO MELA-2005
Bangladesh Community Council Inc. organised Independence-Day Anando Mela-2005 last Saturday 12-March-2005 at the Wiley Park High School, Sydney. There were many book, food, clothing stalls, pony rides and jumping castles for the children outdoors and a cultural function indoors Press Release
Al Noman Shamim Special Dua Held In Honour of the famous Artist, Abdul Latif On the 19th of March, 2005, there was a special prayer held for the passing away of the famous and renowned artist, Abdul Latif at Kings Langley Public School Auditorium. Dr. Abdur Razzak led the sermon and made a special dua for the departed soul. After the dua, Mr. Sirajus Salekin, son of Abdul Latif, spoke of some fond memories he had of his father. Following that, he asked a couple of his acquaintances, Ashis Bablu, Anwar Akash, Dr. Qaiyum Parvez and Nazrul Islam, to speak of some of their finer memories they had of the famous artist themselves.

Bengali HSC students who attended the reception at Campbelltown City Council
On the 2nd of March 2005 Campbelltown City Council General Manager Paul Tosi and Mayor organised a student reception for those students who achieved exceptional marks from the Campbelltown district high schools and colleges and as well the Bangladeshi community HSC students. There were many invited high officials and the Bangladesh Welfare Society Campbelltown (BWSC) executive. BWSC take initiative from 2005 to give a reception all of Bangladeshi HSC students who are living in NSW and the students who got accepted into OC and selective high schools. Mayor Banfield also participates with BWSC for the student reception. BWSC give thanks to Campbelltown City Council. Regarding the above matter BWSC need help from the community. -Abdur

Upozela, Dimla Union, Nilfamari Jela, Bangladesh.
He was born with a disability that is with short legs and arms. He
is training to become a hafeez. He is very poor and to survive he tutors
young children around his area, he teaches
them how to read the Quran. To get
to his students he has to take a bike ride, usually he asks someone
on the streets to give him a ride. However, he had to pay for the
rides. By the end of each month, minus all his expenses he would only

The All Party Action Committee met on the 6th March, 2005 with Reza Kibria (son of S.A.M.S. Kibria) at Parramatta MRC. Bengali communities came along and listened to his speech on the details of his father's death and the current state of Bangladesh and its government. Many local communities took part in the discussion and delivered enlightening speeches suggesting ways in which people can help the situation.
