Canberra Friendship Bus Trip In order to facilitate the celebration of the Bangla New Year (1412) in Canberra organized by Bangladesh Association of Canberra on Saturday, the 30th April 2005, the Australian chapter of Nirmul Committee has organized a courtesy bus trip to Canberra. Sent by: Kamrul Khan Srikanto Acharya in Sydney Srikanto Acharya is a renowned singer of modern Bangla songs in India. Bengali Association proudly presented Srikanto Acharya Sangeet Sandha on the 17th of April at University of NSW’s Science Theatre. He presented a few contemporary Bangla songs, Rabindra Sangeet, popular songs from the old days. The tickets were all sold out. Photos... Boishakhi Mela-2005, Organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia (Razzak) At Burwood Girls High School on Saturday, 16th April, 2005, there was a boishaki mela organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia (Razzak), which gathered a huge crowd outdoors. The mela had many food, clothes and jewellery stalls outside. There were many outside performances such as poetry recitations, discussions, musical instrumentals, group singing and band performances. There was also an art competition held for the kids and later at night there was a cultural function Outdoor photos...1 Outdoor photos...2 Outdoor photos...3 Indoor photos...1 Indoor photos...2 Indoor photos...3 Boishakhi Mela-2005, Organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia There was a huge crowd at the Boishaki Mela organised by Bangabandhu Parishad Australia on April 9, 2005, as many people came to join in the festivities and enjoy the variety of stalls which were selling food, books, clothing, jewellery music and more. There was a mixture of performances held during the day including songs, dances and recitations of poetry presented by various cultural organisations. At night there was a cultural function which was presented in the form of a drama, Moina Mothir Deshe. It consisted of songs, dances and poetry recitations.
